The Curtis Institute of Music Master Class

Mr. Blair Bollinger, a Curtis faculty member and member of the trombone section of the Philadelphia Orchestra, will lead this Master class with the Curtis Student Brass Quintet.
This one-hour Master class will feature an introduction by Mr. Bollinger, a Quintet performance of brass favorites, a coaching segment with Mr. Bollinger working with the students, and a live and interactive question segment from participating colleges.
As a soloist, Mr. Bollinger has performed with The Philadelphia Orchestra, The Atlanta Symphony and The Savannah, GA. Symphony. He has been a guest artist at international and domestic trombone conferences. He has performed recitals and given master classes in Brazil, Chile, China, Holland, Israel, Japan, Poland and throughout the United States. As a student, he won the 1986 Philadelphia Orchestra Senior Student Competition, and remains the only trombonist to win this competition since it began in 1934. His 1999-2000 season includes appearances with the Temple University Wind Ensemble and the US Army Orchestra.
Mr. Bollinger is a 1986 graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music and is now on faculty at Curtis and Temple University. In addition to teaching private lessons, he conducts brass and percussion ensembles and coaches chamber music.
